Very young , I always wanted to travel and see other countries, learning all the different languages in school, my first opportunity came when I was 18. A swiss family with 4 children needed help , in Philadelphia , USA. That's when I started to leave Switzerland, going back and leaving again. Now, after a long perriod racing the children, its the time to do something new, maybe for the last time before i get to "old".

Since 10 years coming regularly to New Zealand, I hope my dream comes tru, that I can stay in this beautyful country and have my own Bed&Breakfast place.

My different jobs, beside the hotel business: Travel guide and Masseur

Tour guide in Italy

I was working many years for a travel agency, guiding cycling tours in Italy, France and Spain.I was cycling with the guests, having picnics( arranged from our van driver) or organizing the meals in nice local restaurants. We always liked to eat the specialities of the countries. The Hotels where booked in advance by the agency.

It is a good way, travelling on a bike, you can see a lot on a decent speed, have all the smells from nature in your nose.

Can stop wherever you like to , to take a picture or enjoy a nice view.

Tour guide on the racing bike

This kind of guiding is different, because people want to get fit, for racing or just for personal fitness. So you have to do so many kilometers a day, not stopping for pictures or views. You still can see a lot, and the smells go to your nostrils as well, specially in Spain riding through the orangeplantages, with all the trees on bloom.

Masseur, at the Training camp

many years ago, when I was managing cycling teams (incl. the New Zealand National Teams), I learned to massage,so it was very handy for the travel agency to send me to Spain as Tour guide and Masseur.

So after the daily stages on the bike, I was working on peoples bodies, for another 4 to 5 hours, so the dear guests would have a relaxed sleep. Living in the Hotel made live easier, no household no cooking.
